5 Inch Squares

These granny square patterns are designed to create 5 - 6 inch (12.7 - 15 cm) squares using #3 light to #4 medium-weight yarn.

We do not specify particular yarn brands because yarn thickness varies.

Instead, we use a measurement called 'wraps per inch' (WPI). You can match your yarn's WPI and hook size to ours to ensure similar-sized squares.

Feel free to use different yarn weights with the recommended hook size on the yarn label, but note that this will affect the square size. 

So, keep this in mind when planning your projects and make test samples with your chosen yarn to determine the finished square size.
