Types Of Yarn To Use

As shown in the picture above, you can make crochet peep bunnies in various sizes using this single pattern, simply by using different thicknesses of yarn.
Yellow peep bunny
This oversized bunny was crafted using #6 super bulky blanket yarn with 5 WPI (wraps per inch) and a 6mm (J/10) crochet hook. Its plush texture gives it a delightful marshmallow-like feel!
Standing approximately 11 inches (30 cm) tall, it required roughly 80 yards (74 meters) of yarn to complete. For its eyes, 9mm or 10mm safety eyes can be used.
Hot pink peep bunny
For this little bunny, we used a lighter acrylic #3 light worsted yarn with 12 WPI (wraps per inch). It is a bit thinner than usual, so we crocheted it with two strands of yarn and a 4mm (G/6) hook.
The bunny stands about 6 inches (15cm) tall and used around 94 yards (86 meters) of yarn altogether, or about 47 yards (43 meters) for each strand. We used 6mm safety eyes for its eyes.
Blue peep bunny
The tiniest member of our collection, we crafted this one using #3 lightweight yarn, which was thinner than usual at 12 WPI (wraps per inch). With just one strand of yarn and a 3mm (D/3) hook, we needed about 27 meters to bring it to life.
This petite bunny stands about 4 inches (10cm) tall. Given its small size, we opted to embroider the eyes and mouth instead of using safety eyes.
Mint green bunny
The mint green bunny is crafted using #4 worsted weight yarn. You can find its specific details listed in the pattern.
As A Beginner Which Yarn Should I Use?
If you are new to crocheting amigurumi, it is best to start with a smooth, plain yarn like #4 worsted weight.
Why? Because with this yarn, the bunny you make won't be too small, and the stitches will be easier to see.
Thicker yarns, like blanket yarn, could hide the stitches in the fluff, making them hard to find.
And if you use lighter yarns like #3 or #2 and a smaller hook, your bunny will turn out smaller and more delicate, which can be frustrating to work with because of its size.
What Can You Do With Crochet Bunny Peeps
- Decoration - Hang them around your home, especially during Easter or spring, or get creative by using them to craft a unique table centerpiece with crochet Easter eggs.
- Gifts - Stick them on top of presents to make them special for birthdays, Easter, or any time.
- Keychains - Make small peeps in fine yarn add a little loop and use them as cute Easter keychains.
- Toys - Kids can safely play with them as they are soft. You can also create a fun Easter Skittles game by crafting several large bunny peeps in super bulky or jumbo yarn and a crochet ball.
- Easter Fun - Add them to Easter baskets along with candy or eggs, or use them as an alternative to traditional fillers.
- Photos - Use them in pictures for Easter or any other time you want to add some fun.
- Learning - Use them to help kids learn counting or colors.
- Relaxation - Squeeze them gently when you are feeling stressed.
- Party Gifts - Give them out as little gifts at Easter parties or other celebrations

- Mint green (or color of choice) yarn - about 38.30 yards (35 meters)
Crochet Hook
- 4mm (G/6) crochet hook
