Yarn and Hook Information
For these crochet coasters, we used a glittery, Christmas-themed yarn made from an acrylic/polyester blend, but you could use cotton yarn or other yarn blends.
This is a #3 light yarn (light worsted, DK, 8-ply) with 14 wraps per inch (WPI). Although the recommended hook size is 4.5mm (7), we opted for a 4mm (G/6) hook to create a tighter stitch.
Feel free to use another yarn weight with a suitable hook size. If you opt for a heavier yarn like #4 worsted or a lighter yarn like #2, your coasters will turn out larger or smaller, respectively.
We crocheted these Christmas coasters using red, silver, blue, yellow, and green yarn. However, feel free to use any colors you prefer.
