Notes

Finishing The Granny Square
Once you have completed the granny square, cut the yarn from the ball leaving a 6-inch (15 cm), and pull it through the last stitch. Use a darning needle to weave in the loose ends.
If you carefully work the white yarn tails into the white heart and the blue tails into the border both the front and back of the square should look the same.
Tips For Making Granny Squares
  1. Choose the right yarn - Pick a yarn that is suitable for your project. A lightweight yarn with a soft texture is ideal for a lightweight blanket and a cotton or cotton blend would be ideal for bags.
  2. Use the right hook size - Choose a hook size that complements your yarn weight. A smaller hook can make a tight stitch, while a larger hook can create a looser stitch.
  3. Keep your tension even - Consistent tension is key to creating evenly sized and shaped granny squares. Pay attention to how tightly or loosely you are holding your yarn and adjust accordingly.
  4. Practice the pattern - Before you start the actual project, practice making the heart motif on scrap yarn. This will help you get comfortable with the pattern and perfect your technique.
  5. Experiment with colors - You can play with different colors to create a unique and eye-catching look. Choose colors that complement each other and the yarn you are using.
  6. Have fun - Crocheting should be fun, so enjoy the process and take breaks if you need to. With a little practice, you'll be making this beautiful crochet heart granny square in no time!
