This completes one-half of the Christmas tree. Repeat rows 1 - 19 to make a second, however, when ending row 19 on the second piece do not chain 1 and cut yarn, because you will continue to crochet and join the two pieces. Joining Back and Front and attaching the trunk- Line up both sides of the tree and crochet down one long side, then make 1 single crochet into the next 7 stitches along the base of the tree- Insert the open end of the tree trunk in between the two layers of the tree and make 5 slip stitches across the base of the tree to secure the trunk in place, then make 7 single crochets to the end.- Before moving on, just check that the trunk looks centered and straight, if not undo and reposition.- Single crochet up the remaining side and lightly fill the tree with stuffing before coming to the end. - When you come back to the start slip stitch into 1st single crochet, and chain 50, or as many chains as needed to get your desired hanging loop length, cut yarn leave a long tail for sewing.- Thread, the yarn tail onto a needle and secure the end of the hanging loop to the top of the tree to form a loop, fasten it off, and weave in the ends.
