Drawstring ties (make 2)

  • For each drawstring tie, crochet 160 chains using double strands of color A yarn and a 3 mm hook, cut yarn, and fasten off.

Finish

  • Blocking (Optional)
    - If the bag appears distorted, you can block it to help the stitches align to improve its overall shape, giving it a professional finish.
    - If you block the pouch, do this before adding the drawstrings and label.
  • Drawstrings
    - Insert one end of the first drawstring into round 26 (a puff stitch round) and weave it in and out through the stitches around the entire circumference of the bag. Once you have completed the circle, tie the ends together in a knot.
    - Repeat the process for the second drawstring on the opposite side of the bag in round 26, making sure to weave it in and out through the opposite stitches to the first cord. Tie the ends together in a knot.
    - Pull both drawstrings to ensure they move freely, and adjust the bag's opening as needed. Ensure the knots are secure to prevent the drawstrings from slipping out.
  • Label (or embellishment) - optional
    - Hand sew on your desired label or embellishments.
