If you are after more simple Christmas coasters to crochet you might like these crochet patterns for Christmas tree coasters. these crochet snowman coasters, and crochet star coasters.

About These Crochet Christmas Coasters

  • This pattern is wonderfully simple, making it perfect for beginners. It's a great way to start learning different crochet stitches while mastering the art of crocheting a circle.
  • These coasters are perfect for stash busting and are fast to make—you can complete one in less than 15 minutes
  • They make great last-minute gifts and are ideal for selling at craft fairs.

Crochet Stitches

You will need to know basic crochet stitches like chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch to make this pattern.

Crochet Picot Stitch

The easy crochet project uses a picot stitch as a decorative feature. If you do not know how to make this read our blog post on how to crochet picot stitch to learn more.

Yarn and Hook Information

For these crochet coasters, we used a glittery, Christmas-themed yarn made from an acrylic/polyester blend, but you could use cotton yarn or other yarn blends.

This is a #3 light yarn (light worsted, DK, 8-ply) with 14 wraps per inch (WPI). Although the recommended hook size is 4.5mm (7), we opted for a 4mm (G/6) hook to create a tighter stitch.

Feel free to use another yarn weight with a suitable hook size. If you opt for a heavier yarn like #4 worsted or a lighter yarn like #2, your coasters will turn out larger or smaller, respectively.

We crocheted these Christmas coasters using red, silver, blue, yellow, and green yarn. However, feel free to use any colors you prefer.
