If you are looking for more easy free crochet patterns for Christmas you might like this crochet Santa Hat ornament, these crochet Christmas gift card holders, or this crochet Christmas tree garland.

About This Bauble Crochet Pattern

  • This is a simple circle crochet pattern made up of two joined rounds, perfect for a beginner wanting to learn how to crochet a circle.
  • The bauble is then finished with three rows of single crochet and chain stitches, which created the bauble cap and hanging loop.
  • After experimenting, we made the bauble using two crochet circles joined together, it not only gives the bauble a better structure it gives it a better look from both the front and back and a professional finish.
  • We used two different hook sizes to make this pattern, 4mm, and 3mm crochet hooks. The 4mm hook was used to make the circles for the bauble and we went down a hook size to make the bauble cap, because the 4mm hook made it look too chunky.
  • The pattern starts with a foundation ring made with chain stitches, however, it can be started with a crochet magic ring.
  • It is a quick and easy pattern that can be made in less than 15 minutes.
  • And because these are so quick to make they are great for last-minute Christmas gifts.

Crochet Stitches

For this Christmas bauble crochet pattern, you need to know how to chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch.

Yarn and Hook Information

We used #3 light (DK, light worsted, 8ply) acrylic yarn with about 14 WPI. The recommended hook size for this yarn was 4mm.

However, feel free to experiment with different yarn types and weights, and remember to adjust the hook size to what is recommended on the yarn label and remember to go down one hook size for the bauble cap and loop.

What To Make With These Crochet Baubles

  • Make a bunch of these Christmas baubles in one color or in multiple colors to make an easy crochet Christmas garland.
