What Size Yarn To Crochet Bookmarks?
3-ply, 100% crochet cotton or similar yarn is great for crocheting bookmarks. This yarn weight is similar to #0 lace (light fingering, 10-count thread) yarn.
It is lightweight and makes delicate and fine stitches and won't make a thick or bulky bookmark.
Superfine #1 and #2 fine yarns can also be used, these a slightly thicker but will still make a lightweight bookmark.
You could also use #3 light (DK, light worsted, 8-ply) yarn, but keep in mind these bookmarks will be thicker and chunkier and might not sit that well between the pages.
I prefer cotton or cotton blended yarn because it is fuzz-free, strong, and durable, but you could also use another fiber like bamboo or silk yarn and even acrylic yarn.
