Yarn Used For These Pencil Bookmarks
I used 3-ply, 100% crochet cotton for these bookmarks, which is similar to #0 lace (light fingering, 10-count thread) yarn.
It is a lightweight yarn and makes delicate and fine stitches and won't make a thick or bulky bookmark.
You could also use #1 super fine and #2 fine yarns, these a slightly thicker but will still make a lightweight bookmark.
You could also use #3 light (DK, light worsted, 8-ply) yarn, but keep in mind these bookmarks will be thicker and chunkier and might not sit well between the pages.
I choose cotton yarn because it is fuzz-free, strong, and durable and it lays flat which is essential for bookmarks.
But you could also use another fiber like bamboo yarn or silk yarn and even acrylic yarn if you like the look of it.
Crochet Stitches
You will need to know a chain stitch, single crochet and slip stitch to make this crochet pencil pattern.
