Meet Cedric The Cute Crochet Bat

Once upon a Halloween night, Cedric the bat had a big problem: he couldn't find his favorite spooky snack-Monster Munchies! Every bat knew they were the best treats around, but they were hidden in the spooky, cobweb-filled castle on Haunted Hill.

Cedric flapped his wings, determined. "I'm going to get those Monster Munchies!" he declared. As he swooped into the castle, he heard a ghost moan, "Boo!" Cedric shrieked, flapping faster than a bat in a windstorm.

"Chill out, buddy! I'm just trying to scare the spiders!" the ghost chuckled. Cedric rolled his eyes. "Not even spooky!"

He dodged a skeleton that was busy doing the cha-cha and zapped into the candy room. But instead of Monster Munchies, he found a sign: "Out of Stock-Try the Ghostly Grapes!"

"Ugh, I guess I'll be mummified in disappointment," he sighed. Just then, the ghost floated in, holding a stash of Monster Munchies. "I found them!"

Cedric gasped, "You're my ghostly hero!" They shared the munchies, laughing as the skeleton joined in with more dance moves, turning the spooky castle into a Halloween disco.

Gauge

For this project, you don't have to worry about the gauge, but it's crucial to keep the stitches tight.

Make a total of three lines in the middle of the wing and one line on the outer edge of each wing.
  • Sew on the arm positioning the hand over the magic ring at the top of the wing and along the unmarked folded edge close to the body.

Attach Wings To The Body

  • Pin the wings to the side of the body and sew them into place.

Finish

Give this little bat some character, by tilting its head to one side, and curve the wings to the front of the body.
