Type of Yarn To Use
You can use almost any kind of yarn for this small crochet ghost pattern, but it is best to a type that does not stretch too much.

#3 Light ( light worsted, DK, 8py) 100% acrylic yarn or similar.
Ghost
- About 18.6 yards (17 meters) of white yarn.
Witch Hat
- About 9.85 yards (9 meters) of red yarn
- A small amount of black yarn for the hat band
- A small amount of yellow yarn for the hat buckle
Hook
- 3.5mm hk or a hook size 1-2 sizes smaller than recommended on the yarn you are using.

Finished Size
The finished size of this little ghost is about 1.6 inches (4 cm) tall (without the witch hat) when made with #3 light (light worsted, DK, 8ply) yarn and a 3.5 mm hook.

Round 9 (arms) - Make a single crochet in each of the next 6 stitches, then in the next stitch (single crochet, chain 5, then make a single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook, then single crochet in each of the next 4 chain stitches), the single crochet in next 10 stitches of the ghost's body.
Then in the next stitch (single crochet, chain 5, then make a single crochet in 2nd chain from the hook, then single crochet in each of the next 4 chain stitches), then single crochet into the next 6 stitches of the ghost's body. [You should have 24 single crochets in this round, and two crochet extensions for the arms.]
Abbreviated version
Round 9 (arms) - sc in next 6-sts, in next st (sc, ch5, sc in 2nd ch from hk, sc in next 4-sts), sc in next 10-sts, in next st (sc, ch5, sc in 2nd ch from hk, sc in next 4-sts), sc in next 6-sts. [24sc and 2 arms made.]
Insert safety eyes evenly between the arms and in between rounds 7 and 8, placing them five stitches apart.
Rounds Ten - Twelve
Rounds 10 - 12 - Make a single crochet stitch in each stitch around. [You should have 24 single crochets in each round.]

Round 13 (ruffle), Work the stitches of this round in the front loops only(FLO) of round 12 - * make a double crochet, treble, and double crochet into a stitch, then slip stitch into the next stitch *, repeat from * to * 12 times.

Thread the yarn tail onto a yarn needle, and draw the yarn through the front loops of the last 8 stitches, pull tight to close the hole.
