I used 100% acrylic yarn, DK (light worsted, 8ply) yarn for this crocheted lap blanket, but you could use any other similar weighted yarn.

The size of this crochet lap blanket is about 35 inches (88cm) wide and 50 inches (1.27 meters) long.
Gauge
14 stitches (lemon peel pattern) and 14 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm) square using a 5mm hook.

Using a 5mm hook, join yarn color H.
Round 1 - Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), turn, single crochet in each stitch across, and single crochet in each row space down the sides of the blanket. In the corner spaces, work a single crochet, chain 2, single crochet. Slip stitch into the first single crochet. Do not turn.
