About This Lap Blanket Pattern

  • To make this lap blanket pattern you will need to know a few basic crochet stitches such as single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. These stitches will be used to form the lemon peel crochet stitch. Learn more about these stitches in our section below titled Crochet Stitches.
  • If you are not familiar with the lemon peel stitch and would like to practice before working on this blanket check out a detailed step-by-step guide on how to crochet the lemon peel stitch.
  • This blanket uses seven different colors, each separated with a band of white yarn. The finished blanket is framed with a simple white border.
  • There are multiple color changes in this pattern. If you don't know how to color change read our guide on how to change color in crochet.
  • This simple crochet blanket is quick to make and would be an ideal gift for Mother's Day, Birthdays, Christmas, or more.
  • This lapghan is also the ideal size for wheelchairs and is also a great idea for a baby blanket.
  • This is a free pattern and you will find a printable pattern card at the end of this post.

Yarn Used For This Blanket

I used 100% acrylic yarn, DK (light worsted, 8ply) yarn for this crocheted lap blanket, but you could use any other similar weighted yarn.

It is crocheted using a slightly larger hook than recommended on the yarn label, which gives the finished fabric a light and soft feel.
