What Is The Suzette Crochet Stitch
This washcloth is worked in the Suzette crochet stitch which makes lovely textured fabric, that works well for many projects, like dishcloths, blankets, scarves, and bags because it is thick but not stiff.
The Suzette stitch is started by working together a single crochet and double crochet stitch in every second chain stitch across the foundation row.
In the second and remaining rows, the stitch combination is only worked in the single crochet stitches of the previous row.
If you are having trouble following the instructions below go to our Suzette stitch crochet tutorial for step-by-step instructions.
Free Crochet Washcloth Pattern
This is our latest free crochet pattern a simple washcloth. This is a quick project to make and something you could easily do in an evening.
We made a set of three washcloths in bright cotton colors of purple, pink, and yellow with a white border, but you can make them in any color you like.
These washcloths have a two-row border the first being a single crochet and then a picot stitch.
You can opt to make the first row the single crochet border or go on to make the second row for a pretty edge finish.
