What Yarn To Use
You can use just about any yarn type and yarn weight to make crochet garland or bunting.
Fine yarn weights like #1 super fine, #2 fine, and #3 light are ideal for this garland pattern because the bats will be small to medium in size.
If you use thicker yarns the bats will be chunkier and heavier looking.
I used #3 light (light worsted, DK, 8ply), and 100% acrylic yarn to make this garland.
You could make bats in multiple colors like you see here on this page or go for a monotone look and use one color only.

You will need to know a few basic crochet stitches like chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, treble and slip stitch to make this pattern.
Find out more about these stitches below

- Draw a loop of yarn back up through the loop on the crochet hook. One chain stitch made.

To make the garland, start with chain 45 (or your desired length) to form the start of the garland string.
Then double crochet into the tip of one bat wing to join it to the chain, then chain 15.
Next, double crochet into the wing tip of the next Halloween bat and chain 15.
Repeat the process of making 15 chains and double crocheting into the bat wings until you have reached your desired length, ending with a chain of 45 (or your desired number) for the garland end.
