How Do You Crochet A Puffed Heart?
Creating a crochet puffed heart involves a few steps to create its distinctive shape.
First, you will start by crocheting two separate cylinder shapes. These cylinders serve as the top bumps of the heart.
Once these are completed, you then join these two pieces together using additional crochet stitches worked in the round.
After this, the next step involves crocheting the main body and the bottom point of the heart.
This section brings the entire shape together, forming the classic heart shape.
Before finalizing the last few rounds of crochet stitches to close off the shape, it is filled with toy stuffing.
The filling gives the heart its distinctive puffed appearance, adding a softness and fullness to the crochet creation.
Crochet Stitches
To make this crochet stuffed heart, you will need to know how to make single crochet stitches and how to make invisible decreases.
Invisible Decrease (invdec)
In this pattern, you will need to do something called 'invisible decreases. Do not worry if you are not sure how to do it! Check out our post on making a single crochet invisible decrease to learn all about it. It is easy, I promise!

Different Yarns For Making Crochet Hearts
We made this adorable pattern with #3 light worsted-weight yarn with 12 WPI (wraps per inch).
However, you can use other yarn weights and textures to make these hearts.
You can make different-sized hearts simply by using different yarn weights and hook sizes, from tiny cute love hearts using #1 super fine or #2 sports to large cuddly hearts with softer plush yarns like chenille yarn in #6 super bulky or #7 jumbo yarn weights.

Finished Size
The finished size of this crochet heart is about 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) at its widest point and about 2.7 inches (7 cm) in length using the yarn weight and hook size mentioned above.
Gauge
The gauge is not important for this project, but making sure the stitches are tight with little gap between them.
Having tight close stitches prevents the stuffing from peeking through.
If you notice that the holes between the stitches are too big, consider using a smaller hook size to achieve tighter stitches.
